Jack D. Seward Obituary

Jack D. , Sr age 94, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2, 2020.

Jack was born on July 3, 1926 in Modest, Ohio to the late Ray and Rosa May (McGonigle) Seward. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and was stationed in the Philippines and Japan before his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant in November 1946. Jack owned and operated Seward Plastering for several years before becoming a Millwright and Working with Millwright Local #1311, working with heavy equipment until his retirement in 1991. He was a life-long member of the VFW Post 5749, Loveland American Legion Post 256 and the Old Loveland Kiwanis Club that funded many local civic programs in Loveland, including the development of Kiwanis Park. Jack also enjoyed gardening, riding on his John Deere, cooking, working with his tools and tinkering around in his barn, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.

Jack was preceded in death by his Loving wife of 64 years, Harriet (Buchanan) Seward, a son, Jack Seward, Jr., and a daughter, Cindy Seward: brothers, Joseph and William Seward, and sisters, Dorothy Hutzel, Helen Campbell, Ann Brayton, Bobbie Hatt, Mary Wilhite, and Betty Lou Seward. He is survived by his daughters Debbie Wilson (Jerry), Paula Seward (Karen), and Kelly Seward. Grandchildren, Karla Colegate (Scott), Andy Wilson, Kari Born (Troy), and James Hill. Great Grandchildren, Kayla Robinette (Alec), Haley, Kelsey and Nathan Colegate, Brody, Riley and Bryce Brandenburg, Tyler, Allison and Brynn Born, and one great-great grandchild, Bentley Robinette.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home 129 N. Riverside Dr Loveland Thursday October 8, 2020 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm, where funeral services will be held Friday October 9, 2020 at 10:00am. Interment Graceland Memorial Gardens (Under Military Honors by the SW Ohio VFW Memorial Team).
